Why Are Academics So Afraid of the Truth?

Why is it so hard for academics, especially employees of governmental entities (federal, state, local, colleges and universities, or secondary education) to admit to the truth which is so clearly documented in the National Registry with first hand documents?  Why are academics so afraid of correcting centuries of falsehoods?  Do they fear retribution so much that they would rather present intentional falsehoods than admit that hundreds of thousands of books, articles, peer reviewed journal articles, and Doctoral and Master Dissertations are flawed and need correcting?

As an academic researcher in the fields of education and history, I truly find it amazing that academics are so afraid of the truth.  When the truth is uncovered, and presented to academics, they cower in their little corner hoping the truth will go away so it will not have a deleterious effect on their academic career for publishing incorrect information in the past.

Case in point, the true history of the Chickamauga is easy to find in the various Archives curated and maintained by the National Registry.  Why are academics so afraid to tell the truth concerning the Chickamauga? Is it because of the necessity to have to admit that the United States committed genocide and ethnic cleansing specifically towards the Chickamauga?  Are they so afraid because they will have to admit their own personal, colonialistic biases toward a race of people who have both light skinned and dark skinned members of the same family unit?

The question must also be asked of journalists as well.  Why are they so afraid to report the truth about the Chickamauga when half a million pages of research is laid out for them to write their stories?  What journalist does not want to be the original one to publish this headline, “United States Refuses to Place The Chickamauga Nation on the Serviced Tribes Roll after Committing Genocide Against Them for Over 250 Years.”  Maybe, “The Chickamauga Nation Has Over 16 Treaties with the United States and Refused Servicing by Congress.”

The sad truth when it comes to academics and journalists, they accept lies as truth because they too lazy to do their jobs and do the research required to present the truth.  What is worse is the pablum they publish is nothing more than predigested and regurgitated falsehoods handed down as gospel for generations. Academics and journalists have become nothing more than a propagandist mouthpiece for the elite, the powerful, large corporations, and the government.  They forfeit the right of being respected because they have become nothing more than master propagandists like Edward L. Bernays and his understudy, Joseph Goebbels.
