WE STAND

The Chickamauga Nation

/
The Chickamauga Nation

Our government has existed since well before the signing of the Declaration of Independence.  Our government has never ceased to exist for well over 300 years.  We are The Chickamauga Nation.  We are Federally Recognized by the Executive and Legislative Branches of the United States Government.  We STAND and we CLAIM our rightful place among the nations of the world.

In Accordance with the Rattlesnakes Springs Resolution, which was co-signed by Chickamauga Chiefs, a National Re-Convening Council of the Chickamauga was established and Convened in the Summer of 2015 in McEwen, Tennessee.

Many, if not most of the Chickamauga bands from the Southeast and Southwest were invited to attend the Re-Convening of National Council of the Chickamauga whose council fires had never been extinguished.  The result of that National Re-Convening Council was a vote to bring the various bands together under a singular National Council of The Chickamauga Nation.

At that time, the National Council of the Chickamauga Nation agreed to resumed its National Council Fires and began to re-convene its government.  The various bands re-convened the National Council, defended their rights as individual tribes for over almost four years before unifying under the need to have a singular government for the Nation.

On July 18, 2019, at the request of Senator David Perdue, the sitting National Executive Chiefs of the Chickamauga Nation, traveled to Washington, DC to meet with the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, Senator, John Hoeven.  They were met by Chase Goodnight, Council, and John G. Simermeyer, Policy Advisor for Senator Hoeven and not Senator Hoeven.  After informing the staffers that The Chickamauga Nation is Federally Recognized in the National Registry and National Archives they formally petitioned to be placed on the Serviced Tribes and were rebuffed.  They then immediately informed the staffers that The Chickamauga Nation was at risk of continued ethnic cleansing, again only to be rebuffed.

The results were shocking and astonishing, they were told to go back to their homes and acquire academic verification of their history and anthropology. That has taken place.  There are currently well over 500,000 pages of academically verified history and anthropology worth millions of dollars and no one in the Federally government will talk to The Chickamauga Nation about placement on the Serviced Tribes Roll.

In the Fall of 2019, the National Council of The Chickamauga Nation began writing a governing document for the single government of the Nation. The Chickamauga Nation National Executive Chiefs Council has worked more than two years by reading and learning about the ancient, laws, governments and treaties of the Chickamauga and other Native American Tribes and then incorporating general principles of the Hebrew and Greek forms of a republic.  It is finalized and ready for our Regions to adopt as they see fit.
