1789, August 20: Acts of the Congress of the United States - Expenses of Treaties with the Indians, and Appointment of Commissioners to manage the same.  An act providing for the expenses which may attend negotiations or treaties with the Indian tribes, and commissioners’ appointmentt the same.

1794, August 20: BUREAU OF ETHNOLOGY FIFTH ANNUAL REPORT  1883 – 1884 – Page 171 - The general tranquillity enjoyed after that date seems to have been occasioned by the wholesome discipline administered to the tribes north west of the Ohio by General Wayne, in his victory of August 20, 1794, and as a result of the expedition of Major Ore, with his command of Tennesseeans and Kentuckians, in September of the same year, against the Lower Towns of the Cherokees, wherein two of those towns, Running Water and Nickajack, were destroyed." - https://library.si.edu/digital-library/book/annualreportofbu518831884smit

1798, August 20: Comments on Negotiations with Cherokee; Root of Problem with Indians Reluctant to Sell Land - Acknowledges receipt of McHenry's letters concerning treaty negotiations with the Cherokee. He confirms the commission of Col.
