Tribal Plan

The Chickamauga Nation hereby informs the federal, state and local governments within the Trust Lands of our intention to invoke our rights under those Treaties, Traded Lands, and Land Grants.  The Chickamauga Nation has created The Six Areas of Excellence to be implemented as a regional plan for the Land Grants and Trust Lands of 1730, 1785, and 1790s Trust Boundaries East of the Mississippi, the Trust Lands of the 1809, 1817, 1819, 1828, 1830, 1832, and 1835 Treaty and Traded Boundaries West of the Mississippi, and the Trust Lands of the 1821, 1822, 1835, 1839, and 1844 Land Grants and Treaty Boundaries, in Texas.

The Chickamauga Nation hereby invokes its Trust Land Rights to implement the Six Areas of Excellence (c) to provide a specific, measurable plan to govern and improve the lives of all the Citizens of The Chickamauga Nation.  The Six Areas of Excellence (c) provide for the following:

‍

For the Governance of Our People – The infrastructure needed to govern the work of the Nation

Six Areas of Excellence (c)

1.     Education.  We are creating our own K-12 digital educational systems and seeking to create a Higher Education Endowment for the Citizens of The Chickamauga Nation.  Our K - 12 System shall provide our people with exceptional education far greater than government education will ever provide for our children.  The educational endowment will be used to supplement higher education costs for Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral programs in nationally accredited colleges and universities;

2.     Community Creation and Development.  The Chickamauga Nation will create and develop up to six model communities each consisting of up to 600 homes, creating, and developing organic farms, orchards,and ranches.  Our model communities will be designed to encourage people to live together in community;

3.     Ecological Preservation.  The Chickamauga Nation shall purchase and accept lands to be placed into our perpetual Land Trust.  The Chickamauga Nation will manage all forest, agricultural, wetlands, and waters which have been placed in our Land Trust. We will use best practices for forestry, agriculture, wetlands, and top water and running water. Our traditional practices are best practices.

4.     Food Production, Innovation & Preservation. Our Farms and Ranches are tasked with providing superior products for our people and our communities.  Superior products come from starting with the best practices of superior philosophy and methodology while remaining “organic” and natural.  Our superior practices of the past will lead to superior practices moving forward as we provide food resources not only for our people but the communities in which we live. We will educate our people to bring out their superiority in food production.

5.     Manufacturing.  Manufacturing will allow The Chickamauga Nation an opportunity to provide our people with ways to demonstrate their skills.  Whether a small, 1 – 10, person manufacturing business, a medium, 11 – 50, person manufacturing business, or a large 50+ person manufacturing business, our people will always have an opportunity to use their creativity in the marketplace. We will promote businesses featuring Solar Energy, Vertical Greenhouses, Textile Production, Woodworking, Recreational Water Products, and Metal Works.

6.     Arts & Crafts.  Our Arts & Crafts allow us to display to the world the creativity and skills our people possess.  Whether the Fine Arts, Pottery, Glass Making, Yarn Production, Needle Work and Bead Work, Medicinal Herbs, Weaving, or Soaps and perfumes, our people will always have an opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and skills while working to provide for themselves and others.
