An Original Nations actor, Jonathan Joss, Comanche and White Mountain Apache, was executed by his neighbor in San Antonio, Texas, on June 1, 2025. He is known as the voice actor of John Redcorn in King of the Hill among many other roles.

The National Chiefs and Citizens of The Chickamauga Nation send condolence prayers to the family of Mr. Joss, the Comanche, and the White Mountain Apache people, and all Original Nations people as they grieve the loss of Mr. Joss.

The San Antonio, Texas police are not charging the suspect, Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, with hate crimes at this time. The FBI must investigate this as a hate crime committed against an Original Nations person.
