Dragging Canoe the Chickamauga Chief

One thing which few people understand is that Dragging Canoe did not have one drop of Cherokee blood. His father was Nippising, a Northern, Tribe and his mother was a French and Natchez mix. So when you identify Dragging Canoe, it would be appropriate to identify him as a Chickamauga. Dragging Canoe;s Mother raised him in the traditional Mound Building Culture and in the traditional Southeastern Ceremonial Complex Religion which made it easy for him to be Chickamauga. While he did not form or establish the Chickamauga, he did join the Chickamauga and became their Chief.
